CRAZY MOUNTAIN XTREME DRIVE SYSTEM (CMXDS)

CMX developed and started using a belt drive system as standard equipment on all CMX sleds in 1999. We have made many improvements over the years and what we have to offer now is the best drive system on the market today.

Our crowning jewel would be the system that we use on the CMX-X and sell as an upgrade for the Polaris PRO/RMK 2011 - 2013.

The stock PRO center to center distance (ctr. of Jackshaft to ctr. of trackshaft) is approx. 7.5". The Crazy Mountain Xtreme Drive System (CMXDS) is 8.5" ctr. to ctr.

The Jackshaft stays in stock location and the Driveshaft is relocated down 1" and back 1".

This will give you enough clearance to run a 3" track with 8 tooth drivers if you want to.

Track attack angle is improved with the drop and roll, which makes your sled get up on the snow better for less trenching.

The Billet Machined CMXDS plate bolts to the PRO chassis exactly where the cast chain case or on the 2013 where the cast belt drive plate bolts on and we provide a template that bolts to the chassis that locates the PTO end of the trackshaft.

There is very little modification needed to the stock chassis, so if you buy a new PRO you can put the stock drive system back on and install your CMXDS on you new sled.

Advantages to the CMXDS include:

  • Billet plate is stronger and more precision than cast case or cast plate.

  • The 4 Piston Billet Aluminum Caliper, floating disc brake system that acts on the trackshaft (takes away the worry of having a brake if the belt broke).

  • The idler/tensioner gives you the ability to properly tension the belt or replace the belt in the field as well as allowing for different sprocket options to change gearing.

  • The Billet Aluminum Sprockets are hard anodized to make them wear resistant.

  • CMX Proprietary Belt (Gates best technology) has a carbon fiber cord, which makes it stronger and will last longer than a chain.

"Seat of the pants noticeable"
Power delivery is much quicker and smoother because of less rotating mass. This makes your sled faster from a dead stop or every time you accelerate.

  • Billet Aluminum locating/mounting plate
  • Gun drilled chrome molly Jackshaft
  • 7075 T6 Aluminum Trackshaft

I have to ask..if you are doing a drop and roll install, dont you have to remove tunnel wall material to do it? meaning there is no way to remove and "put back stock to sell" without either replacing the tunnel or scabbing material back in? just curious..thanks

Belt Drive

I have had three over the years and now i have a 13 pro. We'll see how it holds up but the CMX's Drives ive had i never had any issues with or never needed maint. and to top it off Mark is a great guy to deal with.

Very nice. How difficult would that be to install in a '06 IQR chassie?

As I stated...you only have to remove about 1/32" of material on the PTO side. When you remove you chain case (11 or 12) or your belt drive plate on a 13, there is nothing there. Our plate like the stock parts and is an integral, structural part of the chassis. Simple and clean.

Should be getting my CMX belt drive equipped Pro in about 2 weeks. Also will be running the CMX front end kit with Raptor shocks. Power will be coming from a PAR 910. Running a 3" with a kmod too. CMX makes some beautiful parts and I cant wait to use them.

Great Job Mark. Great Meeting you at the Edmonton show too

Must be something wrong with my screen , it's like a deer in the head light look .

Mark,

I'd love to see a bit more info on your website about the new current chassis specs.

Maybe some close-up pics too. That eye-candy sure does a guy good.

Would be awesome to have a full CMX with a PAR 1100 and Vipec.

got the 1100,cmx drive, and vipec just in a pro chassis and may put the cmx front end on so wil be virtually the same thing minus rear suspension

Awesome

My dream sled is definitely a CMX. I always forget how close they are to where I live, and recreate. Thanks for the info, Mark. Although, If I were a manufacturer, I would pick and choose where I contribute to the forums. Some of the folks on here are ruthless. You could offer a 500 hp sled that weighs 250lbs, costs 300 dollars, has a lifetime warranty....and someone would still manage to find a way bash it. I guess that's just life on the interweb:face-icon-small-win
