Fxr or fly helmet

Fit is most important of all. I like the way my Fly F2 carbon fits. They do run a size small. The light weight and Snell rating were the biggest other factors for me.

well....the order itself went fine....paid them, they shipped it, got a tracking #, email from an Airoh rep introducing himself and to let me know if I needed anything to contact him......everything from the sender was great.

but Friday I went to track the package it shows its being held up in New York by customs?? ....I havent been able to get an answer from anyone....it may get sent back to Italy......we shall see.

Sorry to the OP for getting off topic.

Hope it works out for you. They sent me an initial email, billed my card and never to be heard from again. I bought overseas and they have been awesome. The only thing I should do is buy 2 or 3 extra visors since I break at least one every year.

Just got back from the Novi Expo and I tried on a few few of the helmets FXR,509,Motorfist,and fly. I ended up going with the HMK FLY helmet it fit and felt the best! I would say try them on, I really wanted the 509 carbon but I did not like the fit at all.

Klim or Fly??

well crap. had the local fxr dealer order in the size and color mountain air helmet that I wanted. went to pick it up last night and it was way too tight. apparently fxr doesn't build helmets for big melon buffoons like myself, 2xl as large as they go. really liked the style and was super light. I'm thinking of ordering a fly f2 and the new klim f4 and see which one I like better. any thoughts on those 2? not wanting to shell out a huge wad of cash, $400 would be at the high end of what im thinking. thanks for all the advice so far

We have had a few people say the same thing about the FXR, but more times than not they are still the same size as they are in other lids. What helmet exactly did you try from FXR?

If you are looking at the F2 vs. the F4, the F4 is considerably lighter. Speaking about the ECE Version of course. It is also about a $150.00 more with the spare visor, breathe box, cold weather kit, helmet bag, and venting being the selling points on it. The F2 will retain the DOT/SNELL rating though. In our opinion, if a breathe box is important to you, or something you use, there is no better version on the market today than the Klim. The thing flat out works and is small and out of the way. If your looking for some of the sickest graphics out there, you are swayed back to the Fly F2. Just depends on what you are looking for, but we do stock and have 99% of both versions in all colors and sizes. You decide!

Just thought I would throw a reply out there. I ended up going with the fly f2 carbon and am very pleased. doesn't feel quite as light as the fxr was but it fits good, looks good, and just seems to be a quality helmet. Thanks to Blown Motor for the input, guidance, and great service on the order.
