Fun Center Durango, co

Went by the dealer to see about the belt issue yesterday, apparently I am the only one out of the 80 xp,s they sold to have burned a belt and I must be installing it wrong (lol). They have never heard of any problems, except my handwarmers and my belt first one 200 miles, second one 160 miles (deep powder the whole time).

Anyway, this dealer is so full of idiots that I need to find one that at least knows how to ride a sled. Anybody have any ideas? Grand Junction? Pagosa Springs? Or?

I just want a dealer that I do not have to explain everything like they are my four year old.

if there isnt a belt problem why is BRP coming out with a new belt?????
our dealer has been great to us..we have gone thru some belts but venting and clutch weight has helped the situation..:D

My buddy and a few other guys I know from down your way, bring their sleds up here to Felkers in Loveland for that very reason. Lyle (Fun Center) is a good guy, but he only became a sled dealer a few years back.

I have a buddy, and his cousin bought the dealer in Craig. The guys a rider and is supposed to know his s**t, he is working on the clutch problem himself and he will let my buddy know when he gets it dialed in.

Felkers sled's are already fixed. I would put one of his sleds up against anyone's mod for mod.

Talked to Todd in service @ Fun center, he seems to know whats going on and will check if he does not know. He knew about the belts and really wants to help said if I brought them in he would submit them for warranty to BRP.

You can also try Xtreme in Castle Rock. I know for a fact that they know about all the issues applying to these sleds. They spend a ton of time researching what works and they will set you up.

I know Felker knows his stuff and so does Donovan. Xtreme is a whole bunch closer to you than Felker is. Both take pride in what they sell. I will say this.
Donovan RETURNS my phone calls and emails.

Here is their link:
Xtreme in Dacono or Castle Rock

Felker simply knows these motors better than anyone in the state.
His stuff works - and works well.

Donovan is a good guy, and runs a good shop.

Yeah, Felker knows his stuff, but you almost have to be one of his "buddies" to get something done in a reasonable time frame.

I know, I had him perform a clutch upgrade on one of my Doos a few years ago! It ran like a raped ape, but it took his shop 3 weeks to get it done! I tried asking him a few questions on the hill once and he completely ignored me.

I don't wanna bash at all, cuz he is one of the best up here but I remember how I was treated. Last I checked my money was just as good as somebody else's!

Xtreme South has ALWAYS treated me well and I have NEVER had any problems with customer service. And my sleds have always run very well until I screw with something and mess it up! If I need a part, I always seem to get it the very next day and Eddie and Scott are always friendly/professional, no matter how slammed they are on any given day!

If you take the time to get to know the Felker folks, they will take care of you like no one else. Lynn knows he's grumpy, but if you had people wanting you to TELL them how to fix the sled YOU bought from someone else, you'd be grumpy too!

I shouldn't have to get to know somebody to get great service, JMO When I give somebody $10,000, that should be all the "get to know" I need.

In this business, You get more clientele through word of mouth. When I took my sled to him, it was because of what I had heard of his expertise. The way I was treated when I went to pick it up and later when I approached him in the parking lot kept me from traveling to Loveland to buy a new sled! Simple as that!

I know he is a whiz with the Doos, but IMO, so is Donovan and his staff is a heck of a lot nicer. I have sent friends down there who had purchased their sleds from other dealers who couldn't set up the sled and those friends received the same treatment that I did.

That all depend's on what you are after. Are you chasing the almighty dollar and cheapest buy. OR do you want your sled to perform better the all the other sleds you ride with.

Different situation, Pj bought and paid for the guy's product/service and he was treated poorly.....

If a business doesn't want my money I'll go elsewhere. I didn't grind my dealer, I went in a couple times, they told me the price, I wrote a check. I better get great service, w/o "getting to know" them.

I highly doubt if anyone who purchased a sled from Felkers was treated poorly. If you bought your sled elsewhere and expected to get the same level of sevice his customers get your mistaken. His customers come first as it should be. So go down the road and save a few hundred and get a crappy running sled. I did that in 2002 at Extreme after 4 times they couldn't get it right. 10 minutes at Felkers and it was fixed. Also Extremes setup was way off, finally paid for Felker setup and it was like night & day. I'm sorry but Extreme runs a fair shop, but their level of expertise with Ski-doo isn't even close to Felkers, I could go on but enough said, Felkers sleds speak for themselves !!

HOw do I get Felkers number I would like to order a ckuthch kit from hom if I can to save me the trip,, unless he is close to me. Like I said I live in SW colorado.

THATS A PILE OF CRAP, IF THATS TRUE I WOULD NOT GO THERE EITHER. IF IM TREATED WELL BY SOMEBODY I STAY LOYAL, BUT IF YOU GOT YOUR SLED FROM SOMEONE ELSE AND WERE NOT HAPPY AND THEN WENT TO FELKERS AND WERE SOMEWHAT IGNORED ID BE PISSED TO AND WOULD NOT RETURN. AND ON THE OTHER HAND IF I WAS TREATED REALLY GOOD AND FAIRLY I WOULD BE BACK AND BUY MY NEXT SLEDS FROM HIM. AND SO WOULD MY BUDDIES.

Felker's fields more phone calls and people who walk in that want to ask questions and get free advice with no intention of buying anything then any dealer I have ever seen. You tend to get grumpy when other people and dealers are calling to talk to you and try to get your set up out of you for nothing.

Now just as a test call dealer XYZ and say " Hey I bought my sled at another dealer because it was $500.00 cheaper then you. But, I heard your set up rocks and frankly my sled isnt performing that well. Can you help me out? (Dealer) " sure bring it in and we will set it up for you for a price" (Customer) "Oh no I dont want to bring it in and pay you I was just thinking you would give it to me over the phone".

See how that works for you and how they treat you.

I never asked for a set-up over the phone. I called and asked if he could tune my sled (at the time a Summit X 670). I told him up front where I purchased it. I drove all the way up to Loveland and dropped the sled off. When it was finished I went to pick it up. I paid for the service. I was treated poorly by his staff that was there at the time. About 2 years later, in the Spring, I approached him on the hill and was wanting some info on the new Doo sled lineup. I just wanted to know his opinions and if he had started to develop a set-up. I was wanting to know this as I was planning on buying a sled from him. He acted as if I was some idiot tourist and brushed me off.

The next week I was at RE Pass and Xtreme was up there doing their semi-annual Test and Tune. I rode the new Summit, I talked to him about the set-up and what he had planned for his RMX kit for that particular sled. My questions were answered and I was treated professionally. I went to Xtreme South and purchased my new sled. It ran great, there were no warranty issues, no clutching issues and nothing went wrong with it.

I am not denying that Felkers stuff runs great. I am saying that I wasn't about to drive all of the way to Loveland to take the chance that I may or may not be treated well!

And to reiterate, I NEVER ASKED FOR FREE SET-UPS OR ADVICE. I PAID THE MAN, AND I WAS TREATED POORLY!

He is a LOOOOONG ways from you. He is located in Loveland which is just a stones throw from Fort Collins. That is practically across the entire state! He might ship a clutch kit to you, can't hurt to ask.
