Hey guys, just picked up an SLP full pipe kit (Y-pipe-can) for my 09 Crossfire 800sp. I am a flat lander (aka hills not mountains) Ontario boy and am looking for input on the fuel controler vs no fuel controler for stock ecu setting on this pipe. I dont have any other engine or air mods (yet), and am planning on running pretty stock this coming season.

Also, what kinds of real world, on snow performance gains am I looking at, other than what i can find on the website. Seat of the pants testimonies welcome too i guess.

Only other thing I was thinking about running with this was a Boysen reed pedal on the stock cages.

Anything is appreciated. Thanks.

put it on it will be fine, i too live in the flatlands (about 1500') and had the pipe on for the last half of the season with zero problems. It was definetly a good seat of the pants gain and well worth the money imo.

Alot of people run this combo w/ out a controller, there was a thread about some pretty high EGTs with this and no controller a while back. I say run it but get a set of gauges. I might run this setup or a speedwerx kit depending on how the BDX intake likes deep early season snow.

I run it with a BD Box however it is not needed. What makes the difference is your stock fuel presure. I run it with the BDX intake and SLP pipe kit with no extra fuel above 1500'. Below 1500' I have map saved that add's fuel for trail running to get the the mountians.

Alright, thanks. Wish there were more flat landers and trail riders here for a little input. I think I am going to do some testing when the snow flys to figure out what i need for my specific app. Just go by what the plugs and performance tell me. I tend to run through more fuel and oil than my buddies 09, doesn't matter if i am running mine of if he is. Same out come; so that might help.

I just dont think i can muster the cash for a BD this year... that with the way the summer is panning out so far.

In Central Ontario we are generally between 600 - 1200ft.

I cant believe it though. Its only July and I already have the itch.

did you consider birchpoint marine they have a fuel mod that will straighten you right out, infact make your sled "explosive" you know the main jet in the fuel tank barb thing.wow....its like fishing with dynomite
as for your summer itch i recommend penicillin...500mg for 10 days that should clear it up.

Jason, what should the fuel preassure be with this kit? do you run a regulator? If so what brand. My friend ran this kit on a 1000 with a bd box this season and blew it up with stock fuel pressure at 6000 ft we don't know what caused it yet:(

What will this pipe want to run for rpm to make peak hp? I was thinking around 8100, but not too sure

The 1000 needs fuel per SLP spec's. He should have got the BD #'s from SLP and tuned it from there.
