Fuel Tank Innards A Mess

Boy good thing i checked the inside of my fuel tank on my 2006 Polaris 700 (755) RMK. When i unscrewed the cap and grabbed a flashlight to look in the tank and much to my surprise, i saw pieces of what appears to be fuel lines that look like they just fell apart, clips and the fuel/vapor separator laying on the bottom of the tank. The sled was "summerized" and all fuel was drained. Looks like i will have to replace quite a bit. The question i have is what caused this? (sled only has 1100 miles and is kept in the garage all the time) and has anyone else out there had this problem? :face-icon-small-fro

i think this was part of a update or recall or something...they were replacing the entire assembly...or maybe it was the floats that were deteriorating...

you might be able to just go to your local mechanics there, that have a GOOD rep, and have them replace just the lines for you, and crimp the hoses back on...saves you from buying a new assembly from someone else...

As Guido says anyone... well most.. that have a fuel line repair kit for the new cars with plastic lines can probably recrimp those lines and get ya going!!

fuel lines

I have an 06 900 and my fuel lines were real chalky and deteriorating so I pulled everything out and bought some black fuel injection hose from Schucks and replaced it all.

Here is a post from a little while back...

I believe it is the new fuels and the additives that are in them wreaking havoc.

I've been having some running issues with my D7 and do you think this could be the problem?? I found all the loose hoses laying in the bottom of the tank, along with the back fuel pickup. If you are having fuel issues I would definitely check the hoses out.
