fuel pump question

how do you tell if one has gone bad? if i put some gas in the carbs starts up right away runs for a min then dies...is there something i can do to find out for sure?

Just pull the fuel line off the carb and pull on the rope. No fuel coming out of the feed line when pulling the rope and you have a bad pump or a blockage in the line or tank.

Or the pulse line from the crankcase is disconnected, broken, has holes in it.............................

is the rebuild kit worth it or just buy a new one? if they still make one for an 03 rmk

They are pretty simple so just rebuild it.
