fuel pump-pick up assy ?

Took a look inside this fuel tank tonight, pulled out the fuel pump assy.At the very end of the pick up assy there is a connection (I think) where the clear hose and the pick up hose look like they should be connected.Looks like two L fittings that push together. These are disconnected,by the witness marks on the zip tie looks like they have been disconnected for awhile. My question is 1 are these supposed to be connected?2 Is this connection broken or do they just slip into one another and are held snug by the zip ties? Thanks for the info

Which parts??

Hey Mountainhorse!I knew you were out there! The clear line from the pressure regulator goes down and looks like its suppose to tie into the fuel pickup. On the break down at the far left they dont show what I have in there,They just show a loop in the line,This is a black plastic fitting between the two and there looks like there used to be some type of epoxy in there.Make sense

My pick up looks a little different than the break down,my fuel gauge float is rectangular,I dont have # 5 inline,I am wondering if this is an older pick up assy that has been superceded?

There was a fuel pump recall. Do you know if yours has been in for it? There is also a float recall. If you don't know for sure you just need to call a dealer with your VIN and they can check.

Yeah I called dealer and asked if there was any open recalls on this sled,Dealer said the tank itself needed to be replaced but not the fuel pump assy, said that had already been done by different dealer.

Mine has the float recall that still needs to be done, to bad the nearest dealer to me is 500 miles away in Utah.

don't have a clue, never had the tank off before and it has a full tank in it that I need to drain at the moment.

you should post pics of your pump assem..

the older floats were black, and were round..

the new/recalled floats are white and rectangle in shape ;)

I have the 06 Polaris 700 RMK and recently replaced my fuel pump pickup assembly due to the fuel line descentigrating in the fuel tank. My old fuel pump assembly has the fuel/air separator #5. I recently purchased a new fuel p/u assembly from Guidoxpress(thanks a million) that was installed on a Poo 900. That assembly did not have #5 ( will install #5 and the fuel pressure regulator to the new assembly) there might be a difference between a 700 and 900 fuel pump/pickup assembly.

Did your assy have the black plastic connectors at the end of both clear and black fuel lines(tying the two together)? What I am wondering is what is the purpose of those being tied together,is the pressure regulator still going to work when those two lines are disconnected(like mine are?)Wondering what symtoms that would cause?High fuel pressure?Low fuel pressure?Doesnt make a differrence pressure?Anybody? Thanks for the info
