Fuel pressure

anyone know how many pounds of pressure my fuel pump should be pulling on a polaris Indy at idle?

At idle I am getting 5 lbs so the fuel pump is probably not my problem at this point?

Are we talking non-EFI? If so, 5psi is getting up there for carbs. Remember there are just little floats in the carbs that do the job of making the fuel valve cut off the fuel flow as required. I could be wrong, but I believe on vacuum powered pumps, a spring provides the pressure, with the vacuum moving the diaphram back against the spring on the intake "stroke".

EFI systems run a lot more pressure, 30+ psi.
