Fuel Pressure on OVS kit

So I had my m1000 turbo out for a ride yesterday. It was running great, all of a sudden it would lean itself out at fuel throttle.Checked the fuel pressure it had dropped from 39 down to 36.Cranked up my green blue mode but still not enought fuel.I had stopped of about a half an hour and fuel pressure came back.Ran the ****z out of it then same thing again.Anyone have an idea what is going on.:face-icon-small-con

fuel pump going out?

Have you added anything that would cause a drop in voltage to the pump maybe?

is it possible that the reg is somehow stuck or clogged (though clogged should be more psi right?) Have you adjusted it back to 39 to see what it does?

Are you running the by-pass? might try turning your pressure up to 41-42 and see if the pump/reg change.

ive got a friend with the same problem on a 09 m8 pump gas OVS kit.Ask your buddy if he backs the throttle off just a little to 7/8 and see if it richens up.My friend ended up buying the external rise rate reg and external wahlbro pump and the ccu for the extra fuel pump and that didnt work he is running 8lbs at 3-6k on av gas so if anyone has anwsers please let us know this has costed a burndown and piston peices in the turbo

Typically when they do this the fuel pump is failing. Most of the time when you open it up your pressure will INCREASE slightly, depending on the regulator system that you are using. If you are losing pressure at wide open, the pump is not keeping up with the demand of the injectors.

Thing is when it started to act up that when I checked my fuel pressure and it had dropped. When I got home and started to take it off the truck fuel pressure was back at 39 PSI

It's your fuel pressure regulator, which one do you have now? Mine was doing the exact same thing, under full throttle it was dropping down to 30 psi. They have had issues with the regulator they were using, mine was the BEGI, they switched to the holly, and now are using a new AEM they were just testing this year, that is the one I got when I ordered, trouble is, next ride out the fuel pressure was fine, but it was overboostingg(still not figured out), and I must have detonated cause the top of the piston broke.

Pinch off the fuel return line and your pressure should shoot up. YOu can also boost test the regulator, but too long to post on here. It's easy to hook up a 12v supply to both the stock and aftermarket pump and see if they kick in, but I doubt that is your problem. Good luck, hope you have had better luck than I have had with my setup.:face-icon-small-fro

Oh, $250 for the regulator.

fyi depending on the program you are running 8lbs is tricky place to run. This is the end of the primary injectors and the secondarys dont come on. I would get up to 10 or down to 7. This does depend on the program you have.

I highly recommend calling garr and or travis. I have talked to them multiple times this week. Season is slowing in the sledding biz so they will have more time to talk to you. I had to have my PL box reprogrammed to run low boost (8lbs) on av gas.
Did you change anything before your last ride? Boost/ fuel etc....

What boost are you running? What fuel?
Garr 801-791-0403
Travis 801-940-7777
They are going to know the kit better then anyone.

Also a friend had a bdx regulator(in tank) on m1000, he would set pressure and ride and then it would change again. Adjusted it all day long. May just be regulator.

I would go with a regulator test also, just read someone was running at 8, dangerous spot depending on what you run.

I would start by hooking up the power to the pump backwards (runs the pump in reverse. Then drain every last bit of gas out of the tank and put new good fuel in. Then Call OVS

we have spoke with travis several times the box is a single injector box turned the boost as low as we could to 6.5lbs its still doing the same thing there was a problem with the fuel controller out of the box it was missing programs got that fixed and we were told we needed the external rise rate reg external fuel pump another 500.00 problem is still there its a strange thing at wfo it goes to 12.8 back off the throttle to 7/8 and it runs mid 11,s
The kit is a pump gas kit with race gas fuel setup all it needs is sec. injectors and the plugs and mapping travis said with the mapping we should be good to 10lbs so we figured 8 to be safe and we cant run 6.5

I've ran it all winter at 8 pounds and not one problem. It just seems to show up if i run the crap out of it. Like I said when I got back to the truck it ws running 36 psi. After it sat on the truck for 3 hours down the highway, when i started it at home it was back up to 39 psi.

Sometime lower elevation raises the F/P, would be interesting to see if it changes on your.

When I ordered my fuel gauge, there is a rubber plug on the side (liquid filled), that they told me I may have to open it to get the air pressure the same at elevation. But I think its your regulator. Fuel pump maybe, but I would think that would drop pressure way down when it is goin out. Also maybe things are just heating up more because of spring riding? I may not be much help, but I know Garr and Travis dont want to hear one of there kits having problems. Talk to them and post up on here to let us know whats up...

i just installed a pg kit last sat on a m8 and was told to set at 38 psi, i un screwed the adjuster and the lowest itll go is 40 psi, my tech said may b because of my lower elevation it wont go lower. Im at 3500'

i set my fuel pressure at 38 lbs and im at 700ft my kit s a race kit i dont think it matters
