Fuel filter replacement

Hello! I have a question about the rmk 900:s -06, from the first day I bought the machine I´ve spent more hours in the garage than in the hills. Is this machine a trouble maker or am I just unlucky??

The first thing that happened was the exhaust temp sensor that failed ordered a new one and changed it, after a few runs the recoil spring break. Ordered a new one and put it in then the hole recoil blew and I had to change about everything in the recoil.

Then it started to die just above idle, found the cables to the capacatitor was damaged, repaired them and today I made it almost 150 meter and the fuel filter coupling broke and I had to do a McGyver fix... after I looked at the fuel line I could see that the oring was damaged and the "secondary clip" has moved to another country. So now I´ve ordered a new filter and I need to order the secondary clip.

Is there anything I should have in mind when I change the filter??? And should there be 2 clips to the pump?

once you fix all the things that are 8 years old, it will run great.
Just keep up with your maintenance and try to catch things before they break.
Lots of great info and good guys to help out

sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't. You need to keep up on maintenance as stated above. Fuel filter should be replaced every year at the beginning of the season. Your other problems are pretty minor considering the age of the sled.
