I have a 2012 Pro 800 with 900 miles, I will be needing to take it in for the 1,000 mile service to keep the warranty intact. My owners manual calls for the fuel filter assembly to be replaced every 2,000 miles or sooner if symptoms occur. My local dealer is telling me it needs to be done at the 1,000 mile service and every 1,000 miles to keep the warranty valid.
Is my owners manual wrong? What does everyone elses manual say about this? I think it is overkill to replace a fuel filter that often especially for an overpriced $120 part that should be about $15-$20.
