Fuel Filter on a 01 powerstroke

Gonna change my first ford fuel filter tonight....Any tricks to bleeding it?? Or just crank her up?? Quick tips thanks guys:)

Its a 2001 7.3 powerstroke

I just screw the cap off and replace the filters, then start it up. If you drain the bowl simply turn the key on and let the pump fill it up, might take a couple tries. There is a bowl drain valve at the rear of the canister, have something fairly large under neath to catch all the fuel.
 
Real easy, I started changing mine quite often as the performance and mileage always went up noticably with a fresh filter.
 
If you can find the drain line from under the truck, put a chunk of heater hose on it before you drain it! Otherwise you'll get diesel all over everything, which may or may not be a bad thing depending on your like for the smell :)

If the cap is hard to get off, try a 1/2 extension in the cap. Or two pairs of vice grips on the ribs (careful not to break them) to break it loose. Make sure the new O ring goes on the correct way or you'll have a mess.

Pretty straight forward and easy to do. I leave the drain open while you change it, that way you can flush out any remaining crap with some brake cleaner.
