Frustrated with my m7

 I have been fighting a problem with my 05 M7. I know lots of threads on this. But I am not finding what I need. Here is the problem. Intermittent power loss. Most of the time at full throttle. When it does go it rips. I did a stator, adjusted power valves, plugs, clutches are good, the dealer checked everything and couldn’t find anything? I went to the mountain today after readjusting the power valves (off at 38.5 readjuted to 34.50.) Still nothing. What I think happens is the power valves drop or power output drops causing the surging at high end? I remembered reading on the forum about the tail light wiring harness problems with the 05’s. Here is what I found when I checked it today. Barely conected and bare wires.

After cutting and reconnecting the wires as best I could, I ran it ripped at first but still had the problem on and off. I may have lost connection but I think there is more.

My question is what damage do you think this could have done to the ECU or the new stator? How do you check them?

Try unplugging the complete taillight wiring, the bumper and under the gas tank are the problem areas but if you disconnect it you can rule it out. it will be a pain but go through all the connections with dielectric grease. injectors ect, and maybe unplug the hand warmers or thumb warmer (if there not working) they can also cause problems. Take off the main chassis ground down by the right hand side steering support bracket and clean it and reattach. Check for any burnt wires leading up into the headlights. one m7 in our group had the taillight short. it would go into limp mode and would have to be shut down for awhile in order to run, fired it up and ran great till it tripped again. is yours like this or just erratic? if you have another m7 in your group put your ecu on his not his on yours to test. i think if the ecu was hurt it would be dead, not sure though

check the fuel pump wires i have had them wear on the steering cover and short sometimes. also are you running a fuel box it could be the problem

Useful information! Did the M7's in your group still run in limp mode but just serge when you gun it?

I will check all the connections and see what I find.:)

My machine is stock

My hand warmer wire broke at he grip and shorted to the bars. Knocked my power down until I shut down and restarted.
