Front tunnel cooler

I hit my front cooler on a rock this weekend and ripped it open. I think this a weak point of the sled it is low and exposed.

Do I need this cooler or can I get away with out it? I was looking at the Van Amberg kit.

Or should I replace the cooler and try to protect it some how.

Sucks trying to get a sled off the mountain with out cooling takes a long time I hope it is ok.

Cooler

I am not sure on the answer if you need this cooler or not but I have one off a 05 vector that should be the same as the apex, rx1 that I can sell off a parted sled if your interested.

I dont have a front cooler and havent had any issues. Last year I ran a vanamburg tunnel with a double pass rear cooler but i munched the tunnel at the end of the year. This year I'm running a CR Tunnel with the single pass rear cooler and the small stock cooler on the top RHS of the tunnel

The cooler does not stick down too far. The problem with the Nytro is that Yamaha did not provide adequate protection for it, or the subframe, or the bottom of the engine. That useless piece of plastic they call the "protector" is next to useless. More and more people are gonna learn the hard way. It's the whole reason I designed the skid plate I sell. One look under the sled made it clear.
