Front Shocks Additional spring rates?

Looking to find out where I can get heavier rated springs for the walker evans on my '11 Pro Rmk. Would like to go up about 30#s and lose the sway bar.

Thanks

Try getting the springs from the Assault RMK they are stiffer. When wound up on the shock there's still about an inch left of threads. Works awesome without a swaybar. The sled does what you want, plus stiff enough it doesn't dive when cornering. Hope this helps. Took me all last season to get a set from Polaris as they did not have any till the end of the season. So I got about a month on them and like them alot.

I am trying a different route to get rid of the sway bar. I sent my shocks to Holz Racing Products and they are valving them to suite my weight and riding style(crappy) and installing the remote reservoirs from the Assault so they have adjustable compression damping. $180 bucks a shock. I am also getting the Assault rear shock and valving for the forward rear shock from them too. I think that one gets the remote resi too.

That's exactly what I originally thought also, but then I noticed that the assault springs are 3/4" longer than the RMK springs which discouraged me a bit. RMK=10.25" Assault RMK=11.00". I guess if your saying that they still fit that is definitely an option. Still kinda curious if you can get the same length springs as the RMK in a heavier spring rate.

Either way it probably doesn't matter, hoping to get em dialed in for length and forget em any way so why would it matter if you were 3/4" higher on the threads, as long as you were still in the usable threads anyhow right? I assume the assault springs are the same diameter as the rmk springs (fit the tube the same)?

The Assault spring will work ... there is enough thread on the shock/adjuster to take up the extra length. PN 7043679-133.... 11" free length with 130# rate
OR
2010 Assault pn 7043604-133.... 11" free length with 150# rate.

A better alternative is a set of dual rate springs.

Z-Broz (EXIT) can provide the springs for you .... they have a dual rate spring setup with custom crossover for the PRO... stiffens it up without turning into a buckboard. The RMSHA guys really liked them. You can call Nate or Ryan at (435) 753- 7774 and chat with them. You it would not be necessary to increase the the rebound valving because of the lower initial rate...this gives you bottom resistance with some initial-stroke plushness. You get a near stock initial rate that ramps up progressively to a stiffer rate spring. The kit includes two main springs, two tender springs, guides and spring crossovers at $199.00. They had extensive testing on this last year and are confident in the release this year.

One side note.. if you are increasing the spring rate on the shock with a single-rate spring...you run the risk of turning the front end into a pogo-stick.. the stock rebound valving is not slow enough for the heavier spring. Best to do it as a system... more spring rate with proper valving.

Mountain horse, if I am losing the sway bar though, then since the system is no longer tied and both sides working together, wouldn't the valving end up close working individualy with a slightly heavier spring rate?
