front shock problems

Anybody else have problems with the bottom spring saddle coming out when you run the front shocks on the softest adjustment. The only thing keeping it on is the tension of the spring. So you have to run the shocks on the stiffest adjustment. Seems awfully hoekey to me.

This sled is a brand new 012 and the cup is not connected to the shock at all. If you loosen the shock up it simply falls off. But it stays on just fine when I run the adjuster on the stiffest setting, but it takes away from the fact that your shocks should be adjustable. This is my first Polaris I've owed skidoos for 20 yrs till now and never seen such a thing

if you take all the preload off the cup is going to come off. the body is threaded so you can put on different springs. longer shorter. things like that. i would take and get the front of the sled with out any weight on it and then black the spring till the cup wants to come off and then go another turn or a touch more. add just a little bit of preload.

Are the on cups on upside down? they have a lil detent that they fall into. but the shocks are designed to be able to screw the top up enough to accomidate different springs and to take the tesion off the spring so you can remove the shock easier without having a bunch of tesnion on it. so you cant have it back off all the way. but if you want it as light as you can jack your sled so the skis are off the ground and set the springs so that there is enough tension on the cup that it wont slid out with suspension fully extended and your set.

They could be on upside down, ill check. I was stuck on a hill today and as I was tugging on the ski I noticed that the spring was just flopping around on the shock and just by luck the cup was laying in the snow where I was stuck.
