When I recently took my front idler off I noticed my track seems to ratched more? Ive got it pretty tight and still in heavy snow it wants to ratch it after i stop in the deep snow and start to go again. Never when im riding up the hill. Just when i gas on it hard from a dead stop in heavy deep snow. Also I rode for a few rides last year with out them and had some pretty good wear to the hyfaxs so I put them back on. I would like to leave them off and install a anti stab kit to prevent ratchiting of the track. Who that fix my problem or so I also reinstall my from idler wheel along with a anti stab kit. Do the front idler just help the front of the hyfaxs from wearing out?
Thanks,
Wes

I think extrovert drivers help with ratcheting. The anti stab kit is just so the tip of the rails doesnt get caught in the windows of the track. what model and year of sled do you have? If my hifaxes last one season I'm happy.
someone on here will pipe up and clarify.

Well now that im thinking more about it maybe it not ratching. Ok here is whats happening. When I stop in deep heavy snow (about the time i feel like im going to get stuck) I gas on it hard and it goes clank, clank, clank and feels like its slipping and not going forword. Right under my feet at the front of the skid unit. Then once I move about 10ft it stops. Keep in mind the skid units is packed full of snow during this. Hope this helps with explaining my question alittle more. Im starting to confuse myself.
