Front dzus fasteners on front side panels

Hey dudes, strange occurrence here. My front dzus fasteners will not connect when I turn them. I've tried neatly everything and they won't connect when I turn them.

I did have the panels off all summer due to tear down that was prolonged due to flooding here. But now my projects are complete and those two dzus fasteners will not connect, no matter how many times I line them up, push in and turn.

Any assistance would be appreciated. I've used these things before on yamahas and they are slick usually, but this is ridiculous and it's both sides.

Thanks all!

On my yamaha i sometimes had to take the female end and bend them towards where the male end goes in. They just get spread apart from being used. Also it helps to open your mouth just a little, not too much and stick your tongue out towards either the left or right side, then tilt your head at about a 15 degree angle. Works everytime

check your front bumper.. i could not get mine to line up for longest time... i barely put a ding in my bumper but it pushed it out just enough to never let my pins line up... wasnt even noticeable after it was taken off but made all the difference

One of my mods this summer was to install a brand new B&M Fab bumper on my sled. Very sturdy and cool bumper, but I should verify whether it moved things so tabs don't line up anymore.....

You might already know this but look at the two spots in the pic below. Make sure the tabs on the back of the panel are in, I often close the panel and they are actually out. The lower part of the panel needs to seat into the black plastic fender. I had new panels from the dealer and they were more straight from shipping/storage and needed to curve more to conform to the body. That did it for me. Also, push into the panel when twisting the Dzus. If this is your first Pro you will want to order a couple extra female ends as they wiggle out from time to time. I thought about putting a drop or two of gorilla glue on them.

Had same problem with same bumper....could get the rear ones fine but fronts wouldn't work....even though they where lined up the they wouldn't connect. tried to fined some longer ones but couldn't so i ended up putting a small rubber spacer on the outside of the bumper right at the spot of the clip which push the clip out just a little and they have been working fine ever since.

Thank you for this information. How thick we're the rubber spacers you used?

about 1/4 inch.......seems like i put them right behind the tab that is on the hood that the clips slide onto. this held those tabs on the hood out just enough for the pins to be long enough to insert into the clip. I just used some silicon adhesive for fastening the rubber spacer to the bumper....didn't think they would stay there but they did.

Ya I always snap the rear of the panel first, turn the rear clip, ensure the lower tab is in the rear console, then move to the front, snap it in, then push and turn the front clip. Then of course the rubber strap last.

One thing to note too, the rear console has little "wings" at the top that hook into the hood if you have taken your hood off. These need to be inserted in their slot in the hood prior to installing the hood push pins and torx bolts. This will make the rear console more rigid when you slam your knee into it lol and allow the dzus clip to insert into the console. All the plastics on the pro interconnect and like others have stated, if your front bumper is slightly tweeked, it will make getting that front clip in a pain.

I find swearing at them profusely seems to help. Oh yeah, first drop it in the snow and dig it out. Then swear some more. Seriously, those things suck.
