Front bumper, anyone make one?

Wondering if anyone makes a front bumper like this for our 1m's? Been thinking about making one myself. The stock plastic bumper is very weak.

wow, sorry for the huge picture, it wasn't as big on the Cobe site.

I've never seen an aftermarket bumper for any AWS V chassis. I've also abused them pretty hard and not broken one except in one extreme case.

Try going around the trees :D

If you do make one, post some pics, there may be some interest.

If I was on the sled at the time I would have gone around the tree! Took my stock bumper clean off.

Mine won't be as pretty but it seems like it would be a easy build, A few miter cuts and some tube bending I can handle.

Lots of mounting room off the bulkhead.

LMAO.....I'm dam hard on them too and have never broke one....Oooop that one time at about 40 hit my own trench and got shot into a 3' around tree and found you can NOT run them over at that size.

if you make one i think it will be hard to make the hood, belly pans and ski plate tie together and look good.

i dunno man, front bumpers are cheap weight loss...plus they are easy to change/fix

bumpers

Idcatman3 is hard on bumpers, he is probably packing couple pounds of bark all the time. But like he says it takes a pretty good thump to break a stock one. I'm thinking if you built one like the one in the picture and mounted it to the bulkhead you might bend more than just the bumper if you hit something big.

in the boonies

yeah Idcatman3 is always off in the boonies and loves tackling trees, it seems like once a ride we look back and he is not there and end up finding him in a hole surrounded by small pine trees. I agree with the above post, I would think if you hit something hard you would want the stock plastic one to break thereby protecting your bulkhead and other vital parts.

Greg, Idacatman2, has a lot of room to talk. I have some some pics of him in some pretty deep holes with little and some not so little trees all around. Guess I taught you boys well didn't I?

I think the bellypan and hood would be a more favorable replacement than the bulkhead. Also less jar to you as you will go forward at the rate of impact if it is a sudden stop!
