frogskinz or other filter to eliminate snow intake on rmk

Does anyone have a product or idea to prevent snow coming in front of my sled....little crack at bumper area where hood opens and the two vents....snow coming in..melting at pipe..going down into steering, turning to ice and knocking my boots off...some cat buddies this weekend I rode with had frogskinz but cannot find that site, but they had them factory made for cats.....what can I use on my IQ rmk? Thanks!

I installed frogskinz on the vent, works good to keep snow out, but they are weak I've torn them on the first ride, but i hit alot of brush. the problem is the gap between the hood and the tub. I used gorrilla duct tape and made a flap on the hood and tub. worked great, not a drop of snow, but starting to come off now. I'll be buying some garage door bottom seal, and rivoting that in place.

I riveted on a piece of 1/8 in. plastic onto the bellypan to fill that gap. Has worked great. Have the frogskins vent covers too but haven't installed yet. The website is frogzskin.com.

I just cut out some SLP pre-filter to the size of the nose vents and superglued them to it on the outside and havn't had any problems with snow coming in after that. I only did it to keep my pipe from getting hit and dulling the shine! Maybe i'm just too vain.:face-icon-small-coo

i glued landscape fabric (doubled) to the inside of the vents, works better than any powder filter i've found and tougher

just did the side vent and hood vents on the clutch side, not worried about the others

Thanks guys, found the frogskinz at a shop and bought them....like the idea of landscaping or slp skin for the little gap by the bumper...cheers guys and thanks!!!!!

Frogzskins for a IQ

Can you post up a pic of the plastic mod?

I installed the frogzskins on the vents & they work great. Removing the vents before hand help on the install.

Just use some expandable weatherstrip and put it on the hood side. It fills the gap nicely and keeps the crap and snow out of the belly pan. I have the stuff that when expanded is 1 inch by 3/4 and it works great. I also use the full hood kit frogskinz and removable clear caulking around the headlight and that helps alot in the airbox keeping the snow out

hey, what do you mean by expandable weather strip? What is the real use for that stuff....bottom of a house door or??? thanks!

thanks for the tip on removing the vents - bet that would help.

Hey Randy the name of the stuff is called "Perfect Seal" expanding sealant tape it is made in Canada and I bought it at the Home Depot and there web site is www.rcrint.com sorry I haven't figured out yet how to put a link up yet on my posts
