There is a limit to how much boost you can run on pump fuel, just ask this customer...

Good enough to be saved for sureSure. Customer tried running 8lbs boost with 87 octane when he was on a trip up north and couldn't get premium. He tried to take it easy until he could get better gas - that didn't work out so well. Cylinders 1 & 4 detonated the worst, enough that the bores distorted past spec and needed to be re-done.
This is a really good customer to BPE. We're doing the re-build at n/c, customer is just paying our cost for parts. Even then, this is going to cost him over $1K by the time he's done (that price includes the cost of LC pistons).

Myabe that is as low as the wastegate would allow.

I guess cheap might not be the best choice of words, but it's all relative. The gas that should have been in the sled costs about twice the price of pump...
7 is the lowest this actuator can go. Pistons in the pic are LC, he'll have more margin of saftey now when in a similar situation.
can anyone tell me what detonation sounds, or feels like. I dont have a knock sensor.
