Friday ride anyone?

Hi,
Looking for someone to ride with this Friday. I'm a 44 year old newbie...about 3 years experience (3 years of lousy snow) trail riding and just got my first powder sled. I'd prefer to play in meadows for now until I got comfortable with my new ride and then play on the steep.

I live in Colorado Springs and can trailer another sled, no need to worry about pitching in for gas for my vehicle. Buena Vista/Marshall Pass, St. Elmo/Tin Cup, Turquoise Lake (I know its lame), or Vail Pass or any other suggestions welcome.

Anybody willing to ride with a newbie?

Thanks!

Drew

I would ride but I'm still in the process of working the bugs out of my sled. I wouldn't be much fun to ride with as I'm gonna be working on my sled more then riding. Thursday I'm headed up to Jones pass as it's close but like I said, I'm sure I will be busy tinkering all day:(. I know that there was another guy on the forum FUchizad??? that wants to ride friday and was looking. Good luck!

I like tinkering and watching other folks work their sleds. I won't be much fun either. I plan on initially doing at least 10 runs of varying intensity to seat the rings on my sleds ala mototune break in style
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm if possible

I'm hoping by deliberately breaking in my engine this way (all my others done this way), I won't suffer the noticeable decrease in compression after 1500 miles that others are experiencing on their 800s. I've decided that a multi-thousand dollar engine is more important than babying a $200 quick drive belt.

I made a promise to never ride alone after I witnessed my wife flip her sled last year and get pinned underneath it while trail riding (she strayed off trail a bit and fell thru a snow covered steambed which had a 3 foot gap of air above it). Her helmet saved her life and she is lucky that the brake lever didn't go thru her neck. She couldn't even shut the engine off and was sucking exhaust fumes until I go to her. She flipped so hard that her coolant cap popped off. If it could happen to her, it could happen to anyone.

I'll IM Fuchizad, thanks!

I (and friends) have been up to Jones pass the last three weekends working the bugs out of my and my girlfriends sleds. Everytime I get rid of one bug, another one flies into the scene. After busting my suspension on a rock last year I was all excited to put on my new radius rods and ball joints, only to snap them all again on another rock after only 1 mile. $250 later I'm ready to roll again but am going to wait for deeper snow. At least the good part is that my girlfriends little trail sled is now in excellent running condition..

friday ride

I am riding Friday with FUchiZad we are heading to rabbit ears or Grandby, not sure yet. You are more than welcome to join us if you want. I am not a super aggressive rider, but do like working the trees a little. You can give me a call if you want to ride with us we will be leaving about 6am . Tony 303-710-0991

Thanks for the invite and I wish I could join you. I'm riding Vail with a snowest member tomorrow morning to get some miles on my new sled-odometer says 0. If anybody wants to join us, meet us at Vail pass around 0915 hrs on 12/13/13.
