Fremont Pass?

White Mountain Snowmobile Tours used to run at top of pass on Climax mine property, they moved down the pass onto the flats several years ago.The access at top of pass is private property/mine owned.
There is a plowed parking area 2-3 miles below top of pass on right if your coming from I-70 Copper Mtn(north). If coming from Leadville(south) it's 1/2-1 mile past White Mtn tours on left.Local club https://www.facebook.com/HighRidersSnowmobileClub I rode there once, years ago accessing thru White Mtn Climax property. My brother was a guide there at the time.Rolling meadows and big bowls and hill climb areas.Seen some big slides up there driving over the pass so be aware.

Their base shows pretty decent so I wasn't sure if it was worth checking out. I know a couple people that have been there but they don't like to give up their secrets. Haha

Definitely worth checking out. There is a trail/forest service road from the lot that will get you up top into where you want to be.Cdot has a camera/weather station on Fremont pass to check current conditions http://www.cotrip.org/device.htm?type=still. The pass is over 11300' so the snow should be good.Rarely see more than a couple trucks at trailhead when I've driven over the pass.

Rode there a couple days ago for the first time. I would highly recommend it. Great terrain, pretty tracked out due to no new snow, but great riding with plenty of places to play and explore. Kinda confusing as to where climax property is and their signs didn't quite make sense to me, but plenty of area to poke around and explore. Access road from hiway was a little whooped out, but lots of above timberline areas to play. It goes with out saying check CAIC website before heading out, but lots of low angle wide open terrain to keep you safe and smiling all day. I have a saying, "when in doubt, go check it out". You won't be disappointed.

I'm down in Leadville and was there recently. Found some snow stomach deep! Shoot me a message when/if you head out and I'll see if I can make it!
