“Avalanche Rescue Skills” New classroom session with hands-on, demonstrations, Powerpoint and video. This is the next step in classroom education. Emphasis is on avalanche transceivers and rescue techniques. Class will start with a quick review on avalanche accidents and reading avalanche reports. Will progress to more advanced avalanche rescue techniques.
Students should bring their avalanche gear to class (beacon, shovel, probe, pack).

Mike does a great job if you havn't heard.

To me these type of classes are not only educational in the sense that you learn something immediately... But also you learn that you need to keep educating yourself about avalanches. Suddenly things become real and you feel obligated to take things further. It's very much a gateway to avalanche safety and protecting yourself and the ones you love.
