Free beer!!!

Now that I have your attention.. :)

Has anyone tried a hotdogger just behind the seat of an Apex? Or elsewhere?

There is something about the warm food in BFE.. After having bacon wrapped bacon out of a hotdogger on an M8 I would like to see if it would work. Any ideas?

TIA :beer;

I'm not familiar with how the hotdogger seals but I would think that by heating it with the exhaust gasses it would have a bad taste.

its not heated directly by gases. its a tin can that sits on the pipe and uses the heat from pipe to cook your food. completely separate from any exhaust gass.

What he said.. :beer;

I just don't know if the pipe behind the seat in the middle would get warm enough.. It melts snow but is it worth trying???

I am in the process of putting one on my nytro with an under tunnel exhaust. Might get it done this week, if I ever get over this cold...

I know it will fit pretty good, but it might be a luke warm dogger.. I don't know.. I know the exhaust gets hot enough to burn my hands in less then a minute after the muffler, but getting hot enough to cook something will be dependant upon how good I can close off the bottom so snow does not get into it.

Hopefully I can get it done soon and let you guys know if it is a possibility or not... or rather if my try works or not.

I plan to remove my stock MCX pipe and install a 3" straight pipe. This will give me the clearance I need for the dogger, drop a few pounds and also give me the turnout for the fuel

I did it on my Phazer with the Supertrapp, worked fine, didn't get nearly as hot
as my old 2 stroke, and I was a bit nervous that it would fall out of the clamp
being it was upside-down. But it never did, and hot(or even warm) food on the trail
just can't be beat.

I wondered about getting some flat grip heater elements and hi-temp siliconing it to the hottdogger top and bottom and wiring it to a plug in for the power point by the bars...not sure if they would get hot enough though.
