Franklin Basin or Tonys

Still lots of snow up Tony. Still parking at the lower lot as of yesterday. It's been super warm though, I'm sure pretty soon we'll be able to drive up a ways.

I drove up the rode a little ways yesterday at Tony. The corner before you head up the switch back had to much snow to get around though so you couldnt make it up to the big corner that has parking. If there would have been anyone else there yesterday to help pull me out if needed I would have chained up and probably could have made it around. I did try it without chains and made it half way pulling my enclosed so someone should be able to make it through tomorrow. As it was we rode the pavement up the switchback. Plenty of snow on the road after that.

Still lots of snow up high. You could still drive over the outhouses in the trees around the lake. Plenty of snow for at least another month or more.

The hairpin corner is now clear enough that enclosed trailers were easily making it to the large corner parking up higher, then riding pavement for a hundred yards to get to the snow. Should be getting baked off fast unless this next storm drops a bunch. Great end of the season ride Saturday. Hero snow everywhere. The coming down got hairy in a few places, but still a fun ride.
Anyone know the name of the hill they used to do the turbo shootout on?

Are you talking about Cornice Ridge? Big long open hill with huge cornices all across it?

Sounds about right. There is a LARGE sink hole to the north of the bowl or hill side everyone sits on while their buds are hitting the hill.
I found a couple of your launch ramps while playing around up there last weekend. You must have some big ba((s to hit some of those! Next year, I need to come ride with you and Justin B up there so I can learn the area.

I'll actually be attending services in Logan but I'm lucky that I can snowmobile on any other day of the week I choose.:face-icon-small-hap

Looks like a blast to ride those around. We hit Tony's on Saturday and had a great ride. Still lots o snow!

Are you guys parking at the lake yet, or off the road before that? I'm thinking of going this saturday and just want to know what to expect. Thanks!

Cool, thanks for the info, the video and the pictures! Now I just have to convince my wife the saturday before mothers day that I need to go snowmobiling! And before anyone suggests it, no, she WON'T want to go :-(

I went Saturday there was about five trucks total. It was fantastic for May! The snow in the gully on your way to the lake is getting thin, but from the lake up its great.

I went up yesterday. We parked at beaver though and crossed over to franklin so not tony's. There was about 6 inches of fluffy powder and was snowing good all day. No pictures but really really good for middle of may! Today would be even better.
