Fox shock failure

Hi guys. Today I went to the shop where my 10' HCR is kept. I noticed that the back end was sitting low. I proceeded to lift the back end up and then let it go. The sled would just drop. I found that the rear Fox air shock would not hold the back end of the sled up. I connected the air pump to it and it read 145lbs psi. I drained the air out and then pumped it up again. The shock was still not doing its job. I have only rode the sled once putting about 45mi. on it. I'm not happy about this. Has anybody else had this problem with.

Take the shock apart and make sure all orings are there, and make sure theres oil in it. Its holding air and still not holding the sled up?
 
this sounds very similar to the problems i'm having... i'm gonna have to take the shock off tomorrow and see whats up.
 
I know this is a dumb question, but is the track sitting up on anything? When they are on roll-around dolly's they will sag really bad usually. Just wondering if you know........

I had problems with the rear float on my 2010 HCR. It was losing pressure, especially when riding. Pulled it out of the skid and pumped it up, held air overnight. main leaks were during compression stroke. The dealer replaced the shock body, cap, and seals.
So far it is holding up now. 75 mile ride and made it work hard in the rough.

Same dealer had several more sleds waiting for parts for the same repair. Must be a bad batch of Fox floats.:face-icon-small-dis
 
I know this is a dumb question, but is the track sitting up on anything? When they are on roll-around dolly's they will sag really bad usually. Just wondering if you know........

Along with what Aaron said...........this same exact thing happened to me with my 2010 M8 snopro 162.........put the skis on dollys and rolled the sled out into my driveway to await my ridding buddy with his trailer. Sitting there looking at it with the skis on dollys and the track on the ground the rear was sagging quite a bit............so hooked up the air pump and it read 145psi just like I had put in it the night before? Weire I thought. So after scratching my head for a minute I took the front end off of the dollys and.......what'da-ya know.......the rear-end just popped right back up. Must have to do with transfer on the skid. So yeah.......just something else to look at.

If the shock is bad, bring it back, make the dealer get you a new one. If you F with it yourself & Fox can tell you were inside it, you just blew your warranty on a pretty pricey shock.
 
This may be a dumb question as well but are you having somebody lift from the rear bumper so the shock is fully extended prior to checking the pressure. As the shock is compressed the pressure rises and if you don't check it while its fully extended you will get high pressure reading.

Just got back. Thanks for all the replies.
The sled was sitting on dollies, two under the skies and one under the rear suspension.
I did lift the back end off the ground when I checked the air pressure and also when I added air pressure. I phoned two other dealers in our area and they said that they were not experiencing any problems. I e-mailed Fox Racing and they said to contact my dealer regarding any warranty issues. I was actually looking to find out from Fox if there is a problem with a batch of shocks. So off to my dealer I went. They were very accommodating and my new shock is on the way. Paid a little extra to have it flown up so I can get back sledding.
