fox floats?????

is there a fox float and a fox float 2. if so can someone tell me what is the difference?? thanks

I believe the Fox 2 has a bigger air chamber than the Standard Fox.
A standard can be converted to a Fox 2.

i have been recently schooled on this, by jodi at carver performance. "SOME" original floats can be converted to float 2's.

the stock arctic cat floats do not have a negative spring in them (cost savings), where the fox floats (off the shelf) do. you cannot add the negative spring without reducing the overall travel of the shock. so literally you cannot upgrade the stock cat floats to true float 2's. you can upgrade the valving and air bearing but, it still is lacking the negative spring.

if the orginal float has a negative internal return spring, you can upgrade to the float 2 specs. ski

Thanks for the info.
If "schooled" for you means the same for me, it cost you some money.

I just bought some Float-2's to replace my original Floats. I'll update soon.

89 Sandman you are a real deuchebag fag and I hate you. So does everyone else on this forum.

Wow the Evol X is 4.6 pounds and the standard Floats are 2.1 pounds. Interesting.

The evol X shocks have an external reservoir with compression adjustments along with the evol chamber and rebound. The reservoir, all of the extra shock oil, and evol chamber make up up the extra weight. Lots of adjustments and $. You can get a pretty sweet ride with them if you have some suspension tuning knowledge, if not you could make them the worst ride you have ever had. Most people are better off with an evol R or float 2 that is valved for them rather than having to adjust them, unless they have help on setup.
