I installed a timbersled suspension on my nytro, well this weekend I went to ride and noticed that the rear suspension was bottoming out. I checked the shock for air and it had 125 pounds of air. So for some reason the shock must be faulty, has anyone had this happen. The suspension just sitting there will bottom out.

make sure there is no weight on the skid when putting air in the shock thats what i have found

Yep...have to check the pressure with no weight on the shock...the nature of an air shock is that the pressure increases as it is compressed.

Take all the weight off the skid and put 90 psi in the front shock and 150 in the rear shock, and try it again.

Are you checking this with sled on some sort of dollies? This will cause the suspension to sack out. Just a thought

I tried that, I had it lifted in the air on a couple of times and it still would bottom out.

Use a zip tie on the body of the shock to see exactly how much compression you are getting during operation. If you "feel" it bottoming, then your zip tie should end up at the very bottom of the shock denoting full compression, otherwise you are just feeling a lot of compression. Chances are, what you feel actually is bottoming, but the zip tie trick will tell you for sure.

What rails are you using...if you have the stock rails or early ice-age rails, do you have the rear arm in the correct hole? Not sure if this would cause what you're describing, but its something to check.

I have the stock rails, I was wondering about this so Im going to call timbersled in the morning.

I've got the TS on my stock Nytro rails as well, and I'm not sure what you're asking here. The stock rails require the adapters, which are placed and bolted onto the rails via the instructions, and then the lower mount for the rear shock is then placed based on the position of the adapters. I see no other holes the rear arm could be in.....

Sorry, I forgot about the adapters for the stock rails...the early ice age rails had holes for both the stock susp and TS.

Still probably best to call alan or budd at TS and find out what is happening.

Keep us posted.
