Found this last night rolling around under my engine on my new sled. I wonder who is missing the socket, a guy at Polaris or my dealer?

Dang, good find. I will have to check my sled now and see if I come up with the matching air impact wrench.

BTW - nice truck in your avatar.

Oh snap, that is awesome, that would have been like trying to find the rattle noise in my truck for a month, only to find a rock had jump up into the gaurd pan on the exhaust..
That socket would have driven me nuts..

Yer dealer's tech is missing a socket... Musta jumped off his impact after tightening a ski.

My dad found a nice Snap-on screwdriver under the hood of a GM that had been to the shop. They couldn't figure out the issue so he didn't go back.

Funny, i was working at Boeing in Renton Washington a few years back and i heard that a mechanics wrench was found in the vertical tail section of a brand new plane and how it was found was when periodic maintenance was being performed.

That should NEVER happen! Tool inventories are required after every shift change at a minumum.

Hey SS you should call the dealership to see if a mechanic is missing that socket. If you do find the rightfull owner that would be worth way more than that socket is worth in the long run, not to mention its the right thing to do. I know the feeling of loosing or misplacing tools at work it SUCKS. Good thing you found it that would suck to have that get up in your clutches or something.

I am pretty sure they would deny that it was theirs as they don't make mistakes you know. If that had gone through my clutches later, I would have sure been wondering where the hell the socket came from as I don't use westward tools. Make sure you look over a new sled very well. I found this by standing on the sled and testing out my air shocks.

Wow...that is a good find

I worked at a detail shop in high school and we'd get the cars after the mechanics had them. Found a LOT of tools, the best was an impact gun, snap on!

i found a socket attatched to a rusty swaybar link bolt. but hey since im a young mechanic i know what its like too lose stuff. you could go on lunch an come back with the vehicle gone home already and relize you left a peice outa a set in it and cant ever get it again. Its a pain in the *** too buy some individual peices

Awesome job on the bodywork and paint. My struggle right now is finding a good bodyshop to do mine, and I keep changing my mind on the colors.

I just wish I could get paid enough to justify doing jobs like this. This was for a friend and I lost my azz. chalked it up to advertising. I pretty much re-fabbed the entire truck to make things fit and hold up. Good luck on finding a shop, the others around here don't do the ground work that really makes them last. I had 4 1/2 months in it, it has a 2 stage base coat (planet color) looks good but pain in the arse.

When I was working for my dad's mobile home dealership, we had a service call about a leaky pipe. We took the wall apart to fix the leak, and when we did there was also a 14v batter powered impact driver between two walls.
