i know it's early but........ last yr no forum ride. lets get it together and make it happen this yr. it was great seeing alot of people i know at the snow show. i met alot of them @ the forum rides:face-icon-small-coo good stuff and good times fo sho:face-icon-small-win in the past we picked presidents day weekend. i know i know that weekend wont work for some but in the past we had good turnouts. i dont care what weekend we do it. lets pic one and JUST DO IT!!

We should do a forum ride/beacon education day earlier in the season. I feel it brings more to the table then trying to mange 20+ guys just riding.

I wanted to do it two years ago but couldn't make the date. I know Pres weekend is chosen for different reasons but it was tough for me to do that. It's always a lot of work by the guys putting it on to do this but usually fun. I'd be interested.

I'm already scheduled for 'da Mesa on Pres weekend. How about late Jan or late Feb?

That was were we were going to try to have the ride last year, but thunder mountain lodge was in the middle of renovations and couldn't do it ....

Then it just sort of fell apart.

If there is a 4M ride this year I'd like to see it happen at Mesa, I've never ridden there.

Whatever is decided, maybe keep the pertinent, most current info at the top of the thread by editing the original post or so. I know for me, once the thread gets too long I lose track of the details and it takes too much time to sift thru posts to find info.

i rode the mesa last yr at TML and had a great time. i think that would be a great place for a forum ride. i'm not set on presidents day weekend it's just what we've done in the past. i think what will have to be done is just pick a date and run with it. some people will make it and some peolpe won't, you cant make it work for everybody. if quinton has plans elsewhere that would be a great time to have a forum ride without him:jaw::sorry::bounce:

Are you refering to Quinton Lander? If so I hope you are Joking! Quinton Is a stand up guy who loves to ride and has built some really cool sleds! He has faced a pretty tough curve ball with his health over the past few years with (Parkinsons) which drives most people to just give up everything! But not him, Ive never met someone with so much determantaion to do the things he loves like sleding, or hunting despite all! Not to mention he is one of the nicest guys youll ever meet and knows the mesa as good or better then anyone up there and he is happy to take a group of guys out that dont know the area and show them around and a great time! I think we would be lucky If Q-ball could make the ride!!!

With that being said I think a forum ride on the mesa would be great! It would be nice to put more names to faces! I think sometime around Pres day would be great at least the snow should be there! The mesa needs 6ft plus before most of the really good riding opens up! I would have to think Mark would be up to hosting it at Tml! I guess will see if he chimes in.

Until then let it snow!!!:face-icon-small-hap

IT WAS A JOKE! i was referring to Qreiff who is a great guy i've ridden with a few times. man it needs to snow people are a little sensitive around here. i agree with ya m1000mod it's great to put faces to the names on here. maybe you could show me around next time im up on the mesa?

Presidents day on the Mesa will be booked. I would get with cannonman and see when he needs to fill spots. We will also get the best rates that way.

RE is best. Everywhere else is too crowded. Plus there's great parking and no fee like Vail Pass. Everyone is usually at RE anyways. RE gets by far the most snow of anywhere in the mountains & there's a Waffle House on top of the pass.

;-)

I think CB sounds like a good spot

I'm good for anywhere, but not on President's day w/e. Tudizzle and I will be on our other trip at that time.

TML will be happy to host the Forum ride in Feb. President Day weekend is out as we are nearly fully booked already. Let me look at some dates and I will figure something out. I will be able to offer some substanial discounts if we do it end of Feb. or early March. When we figure out a date it will be first come first served. I have some new cabins done (6) and some of the original cabins (8). They sleep 4-11 given what cabin is booked. Tons of new parking and a shop to fix in this year. Give me some ideas on what you would like to see. ie: events, prizes, guides, food, whatever. I have never been to a forum ride but we will do what is needed to get a good time going. Anybody able to get some donations going? Any help would be appreciated and can see this being a yearly event at TML quite easily.

Count THE CREW in if its not going to be on Prez weekend.

We can help scare up a few donations for the raffle/fundraiser. Is there a local club in the area? Would be good if we could get them involved too.

Pick a weekend and run with it..nothing will ever fit everyones schedule but with enough advance notice, people can plan for it.

There are two "local" clubs at the west end of the Mesa area- Grand Junction SnowSkippers (Snowskippers.com) and the Delta SnowKrusers (snowkrusers@gmail.com). No idea of what either club's interest in the festivities might be, but the clubs have lots of good people and are active.

We did the beacon Olympics at Vagabond Ranch last year. 2hrs from Denver and good lodging.

Tony. The forum ride is the first week in March at TML. Cannonman has made a thread.
