Forum Expert 9R review

I am riding a Pro 155 9R today. I'll make sure to give a review tonight of how the 9R performs at 12,000 ft. ? Chris is riding a Khaos 165 9R today. Now I have an excuse when he destroys me since i am running the shorter track. ? Not sure if we are going to ride Boosts this week or not... Stay tuned

The 9R definitely gets smoked by the Boost at 12,000 ft. Chris jumped on a client's boost for awhile today to pull some lines I dont think we could have done without a Boost laying down a track to poach. I honestly couldn't tell a huge power difference compared to my 9R back at home. It seems like this 9R gets around like my 9R does back home. However, it was very apparent the Boosts could go up stuff at twice the speed the 9Rs. Chris says they are making about 10 to 12 mph more track speed. There is a prototype track on the sled I'm riding. It's a 3.25 I'm sure you will see as an option next year from Polaris. Chris said no pictures of it so I guess you guys will just have to wait to see it. I got my ass handed to me today but I'm still getting acclimated. I definitely not riding like an expert ? Breathing at 12,000 is really hard.

A good performing 3.25 track would be a welcomed addition. One of the best mods in my area is a doo track on the matryx.

Clutching from a video, here we go-

Excellent camera placement cuz the rpm/mph are easy to see!

Sled can’t hold steady 8400rpms wfo. 8400-8300-8250 and mph goes from 36 to 32 to 34.
Solution-Clutch weights control rpm so drop 2 grams and gear down to the lowest ratio you can get.
-backshift is a tick lazy, possibly a combo of elevation/high gear ratio, heavy weights.
I’d say the 12k feet is causing the issues but remember those guys tune their sleds constantly so your sled did really, really good!!! If she was tuned for the elevation, you woulda been so happy.

With the above modifications, I hereby declare Chadly’s sled a ripper.
That's one of Chris's sleds. Not my sled. Here is a video of me not being so expert and shattering the side panel ?

So real talk - if you rode the buena vista stuff all the time, would you go 9r still or boost?

I picked up a GoPro last week so you I could record my riding and have you geniuses on here tell me how to clutch my sled and tell me what else is wrong with my set up. Here is a couple clips for you to enjoy of me pounding some meadows:
I watched the vids and from what I saw, it sounds pretty good. Backshift is 7.0/10(I’m picky) rpm wfo holds steady but I can’t see the rpm/mph.
Next video try some wfo hill climbing and get the Speedo in the shot.
From what I see, it could be a little livelier in midrange which will enhance the gay tree riding. I recommend a Kurt’s gear down with the lowest gear ratio available. It should be a noticeable difference and be more braaap braapy! Do another video to further ANALyze the clutch performance. Can’t believe Chris’s 9r performs so lame. It’s harder for students to learn on ****ty running sleds.

That's a tough question. Boost will obviously make it easier to get up stuff than the 9R. 14 mph track speed difference is what Chris says they are making and that's huge. That being said, I still love a good challenge so I'm sticking it out with the 9R for the whole trip. They offered me to switch to a Boost but I passed.

How many days are the clinics or are you in a special deal? Your doing great! You must be doing pretty good to be able to these . Nice work. Ask Chris why the roscoe thing went bad (iam a interneter) used to love those videos.

I just signed up like everyone else. No special deal.

Nice video. The first one. I can see the gauge all the way up and hear you in and out of the throttle until you hit that last top pull and then at the top you are in and out a little. Looks like 8200-8400 until the last little bit at the top but you feathered the throttle a bit there too. If that’s over 10,000 seems impressive. But that sled is only pulling 135lb jockey lol. Put a man on it and it might be different. When you poach tracks its just like when you hit off the womens tees golfing.
Also watching the vids it didn’t look super deep is there a reason you started poaching all the way at the bottom? Did you just want to make sure you made it and not risk your own line all the way from the bottom of the top pull? Sled just sounded strong the whole way.
