Picked up some .54 springs and going to redo seals while I am at it. I was going to put in heavy springs but race tech talked me out of it.

Curious on what oil/weight people are using and what volumes they are using in chambers.

I am 225 6"2. Running a TS ST kit. on 09 kx450f.

Went .58 on my cr. Worked great but ended up with my clickers maxed pretty quickly. Dirt lab in slc is putting .62 in my yz. I'm 170lbs. I don't jump a lot, but like to ride hard. (Who doesn't)? Where i bottom the most is bottom of a steep transition (riding downhill). Who talked you out of stiffer springs and why?

Race tech told me that anything higher than .54 would require custom work. They heard some guys were using higher rates with snowbikes with success but said anything stiffer than .54 would we ridiculous to try and ride in the summer. If it sucks guess I will be more set up for summer and order stiffer springs next winter.

What about shimming the springs for some extra preload?

Springs and valving are the real setup, and yes your bike will suck in the summer. Its easy to change back if you have the parts and know the valving stack.
