There's a guy behind the Peterbilt store that has a Performance shop that could probably take a lot of your money and help you out. I wish I could remember the name but it's been a few years since I was there, you could probably call the Peterbilt dealer and get his number.
The shop your looking for is Great Plains Customs. Give Miah a call , he will get you going in the right direction. They are located in Tea now, phone no is 605-731-0000. Another person you may want to talk to is Dan Stone, last I knew he worked for Ford in Brookings. iah can get you his contact info if needed.
Just an FYI, Mia is one of those guys that is a lot of talk and not much action, unless you are one of his buddies! The fact that moves his business every 2 to 3 years should make you suspicious!
He would be near the bottom of a short list of shops in the area that I would use!
Besides, I am pretty sure he is a GM guy?
Our shop has done quiet a few 6.0 repairs. Most common issues are egr's and turbo vanes sticking. Plugged egr's lead to head gasket failures. Just depends on how much money is in your budget and how bullet proof you want to go. The 6.0 is a decent engine once the proper things are done.
I am more of a 7.3 guy. Something about the sound of a 600hp 7,3 at 4000 rpm.
OK HEAR IT IS I LOVE 6.0 AND 6.4 FORDS the average bill on one is 4.500.00 and thats just repairs .....with head studs ,weld up EGR tube ( has to be legal ) fix the pump pressure tube and feed tubes to heads twins and programing it's more like 8k, heard of a guy workin on a psi blow valve for the rail supposed to pop when a inj goes away to save the remaining 3 on the rail just waiting on results ..
OK bring them on over I need a new sled or two this year..
