Ford 7.3 Exhaust

I am looking at a banks monster exhaust for my 7.3 ford. Who has one? how do you like it? Is there any others I should consider?

I've got a Pinnacle system on mine, sounds pretty good if you ask me.

Anything from Banks is top notch. One thing I'd consider though, the more air you let out the more it's going to want and the stock turbo housing can only handle so much. I've got quite a bit more surge/stall (whatever it is) than before I did the exhaust, did a intake kit and that helped some but I think I really need a different turbo housing, or turbo all together. AFE makes a nice ported turbo housing that is supposed to cure the surge/stall. Banks also has a very nice turbo kit, also comes with a very nice price tag. I saw a 7.3 with a complete banks kit and just coming off idle that thing was whistlin' like a jet.

Wouldnt be one bit afraid to buy anything with Banks on it.

Mbrp makes a stainless kit that fits like a glove! no reason for huge exhaust on a 7.3 a 4" is fine they even have a muffler delete option

I know if I had a 7.3 liter i would take it down to the local muffler and rim shop here and have them just weld up a custom 5 inch straight pipe out the stock location with no cat or muffler. Those trucks sound nasty like that.

I looked at the MBRP stuff also. It is quite a but cheaper then the banks system. I have heard good theings about how good the banks fits. I was a little worried about the fitment of the MBRP stuff. Thats good to hear that it fits nice.

I know if I had a 7.3 liter i would take it down to the local muffler and rim shop here and have them just weld up a custom 5 inch straight pipe out the stock location with no cat or muffler. Those trucks sound nasty like that.

I did that, then 1 week later ordered the Banks Monster exhaust. I couldn't stand the sound of it with a straight pipe, neighbor said it sounded like a choking BillyGoat.

Pretty Happy with the Banks system, although my Neighbor put the mbrp on and it seems to do a little better..

Banks stuff is nice, but way overpriced. Go with the MBRP exhaust, or Silverline. Check out www.thedieselgarage.com, kinda the SW of diesel trucks.

I have the Banks 4" and it fits and looks great. In the cab, I don't hardly hear any exhaust drone (hear the turbo though) but everyone says its pretty loud, but not obnoxious and sounds good

MBRP or Magnaflow are my recomendation....stainless is over rated why would a diesel exhaust rust? jmo
