My Dad is having some repairs done on his truck for an oil leak. They said it is the ICT unit and its going to be $700 to replace it. Anyone know what the ICT is? Just trying to keep him from being jipped.

parts manger at a ford dealer here

I asked one of my techs and they said that is a intake control tempture unit and there is no oil running to it. Just my .02

hmmmm Thanks a bunch Cubby! I wonder if my Dad heard incorrectly and it is the ICP not ICT. I have found a few different things about the ICP being a problem but nothing on the ICT.

ICP makes more sense

Injection control pressure regualtor makes more sense and could have a oil leak too. 2003-2004 6.0 takes a 3c3z9c968aa which retails for $304.98 and if it is a 2005 or newer it takes a 5c3z9c968ca and it retails for $290.78. Hope this helps

2003s and early '04s had the ICP on the back of the block up high. Ford moved the ICP towards the valley after that. Later flashes rendered the ICP function obsolete but keeps the sensor inplace and it DOES have an O ring which can leak.

Cubby does he need the sensor or just the o ring? It may just need to have an 1/8th turn put to it.

Snoboy, good point

Come to think of it most of the trucks we deal with for this problem were under warranty and we always just replaced the sensor, but I will have to check tommrow when I get back to work and find out if you can get the oring sepertly. Thanks for pointing that out, might just save some money.
