Forced air boot dryer questions

I'm building a boot dryer for my trailer and was wondering if people are choking down the supply somewhere to minimize the heat to keep from breaking down boots or is this not a concern? Every boot dryer I've ever used has always been non forced air.

Also have you found that a cap on the heat tube with lots off little holes works any better than just a tube with an opening at the top?

this is what i did hot tub manufacturer had some reject parts that i recycled
i put hosing on the nipples for each boot

I didn't get much for replies so I just went with it. I installed a stove pipe damper in the starting collar to be able to shut it off...it's hasn't been shut off since installed. Also I glued the caps on and drilled holes in the tubes, top and front of the caps. It doesn't put out any crazy kind of airflow, but I put my boots on the dryer at the end of the ride (I try not to thaw sleds in the trailer as it either burns a whole bottle of propane or leaves a wet icy mess) and start the heater an hour before we get to the parking lot to unload. Boots have been nice and dry and toasty every ride. Doing it again I would have gone bigger diameter pipe with reducing T's and not glued the caps. No valve needed and just cap the ones not being used. Maybe cut a notch in the front under the cap to allow more air out down the tow with the cap removed and boot in place. All in all a VERY worthwhile and fairly easy improvement.
