What did you guys use to really seal the plenum where it attaches to the stock boost box to the throttle bodies?? Such a hokey set up. You can't get your fingers under there to seal it from belt dust. Slp was no help on the phone. They said don't worry about it, it will be fine. Sorry, "it will be a good enough seal" they said. I don't believe them. I've gone on about 6 rides, and when I took the throttle bodies off to adjust my oiler, the inside was covered in what looked to be belt dust!! Even hard to get a consistant seal with rtv sealant about the seam. Any ideas guys??

you can even try to seal it with duct tape..then throw some heat tape over that so it wont melt!!

that is how we seal up the seal from the boost box to the FNI airbox...and protect the rubber seal on the boost box from melting at the same time

i love heat tape..lol

That's exactly what I have done. I'm just not happy with the seal still. I'm thinking maybe a bicycle inner tube, then with heat tape over that. Or I could blow another $350 bucks on a fni intake..........

hmm...does the SLP airbox come out of the sled together...attached to the boost box? i never had one so i am not sure..

can you put it together on your work bench, seal it up with some foam or something..then rivot it together.and then silicone around the edges maybe..

Used a foam tape to seal 1/2 of boost box to SLP box then "press fit" together rather snug, you can duct tape but it seems to make install harder though it is possible.
Also I installed flowrite in Radiator block off plate to help flow.
Got fed up with it a made my own...........

Personally I don't like them just for that reason, but here's a thought,
draw a line on it installed for indexing make sure it's marked spot on. Then I would get a plastic weld gun and plastic weld it up, or epoxy, or rivet together with small rivets and use high temp as a seal inside and out. I kicked that air intake around alot before I bought my FNI one and glad I did for that very reason. Belt dust is very abraseive it'll eat your pistons to a dregree, or atleast you'll know you sucked in something that yer no supose too.
If you have the cash get the FNI one or put your stock one back on and contact "slowfusion" he made his stocker air box take it cold air and seemed to work pretty good from what he said.
Good luck with what ever you decide to do!

Try some of that door foam seal, double it or even triple it up so it contacts both sides so it does not allow any snow or dust in, thats what i have done' seems to work good!

The boost box and the plenum go in separately. I wish you could seal them up on the work bench that would be nice. There is really no room for foam tape for a seal, and you really don't want that crap getting sucked in the motor. i just pressed fit her back together, and duct tape and heat taped the top half. Thats as good as she gets!! Hurtin unit.
