For those of you using a Sled Deck...

....what are you finding to be the best set up when hauling with a sled deck? Yes, I haven't given up on snowmobiling!

Current set up is a dove-tail type sled deck with normal pull down ramp that attaches to the bottom rail of dove tail. It has horizontal ladders spaced about 18" apart and has the outer plastic skag rails.

Your going to want to cover the rails on your ramp with super glides the best you can to cover the gaps. My buddy has a similar set up and it was a massive pain in the behind to get my bike up and down his ramp. The skag under my ski caught on every single rail and I dropped it off the ramp pulling it down.

Is his ramp not covered w the super glides therefore allowing the slag to get caught on the rails? I'm wondering how bad it would be if the right 2/3 are super glides and the left 1/3 the regular ladder to help walk the bike up?

Another option if people like the Spine ramp is to have one custom made for my deck. Is anyone using one of these presently? Would this be a better option?

May need to sell deck and just get a trailer for when I go sled....really want to minimize the cost though between these options.

Just put a row of superglides in the middle and ride it up.

I put a winch w a wireless remote on my deck too for when i'm not ambitious

Sled deck

I did the ramp thing last year never got hurt but was just good luck .most of problem was unloading .so this year I mounted a small picker crane on the back of my sled deck I just pick them up swing around an there loaded or unloaded works awesome

How about a picture of your crane, I like that idea.

I saw a setup like this in the pilot creek parking lot in cooke last weekend. Looks like it worked great.

Lol, ride it up huh? no thanks. i put a winch on the front of my deck and i winch it up the ramp (and down)

I just used a small atv winch. Got one in edmonton with a wireless remote and synthetic cable for under $200. Just bolted it onto the front. Works great.

Riding it up ain't that bad either if you have a good run in.
I get a good run in and then just coast up the ramp. Maybe even drag the brakes a bit. Most of the shenanigans on sled decks happen when guys wait till there on the ramp to get traction it seems to me
