Footrest Removal/Stiffener

i wanna take remove the footrest support and get it powdercoated,i noticed that it has a few rivets holding it on.When i go to reinstall what size of rivet will i need or is there some kinda special rivets and gun i need to use?
Off topic but saw guys installing tunnel stiffeners at the rear saying the tunnel was cracking so gonna install stainless instead of the aluminum.So curious with this also do u need a special kinda rivet and gun....I heard there is a gun that makes the back side same as the front,but heard was very expensive...

3/16" rivets will do. I'd recommend getting a Harbor Freight or equivalent air riveter, they are well worth having in the garage. Call Michelle at Oregon Trail Sports and she can get you bags of Polaris rivets w/o the crazy prices.
