Foot brake conversion.

I am riding my first snow bike th Is winter, a 2012 KX450 with the UFO kit. The track brake operates off the front master cylinder. I have a feeling that if I start to jump this bike like I jump my bike and sled I will need to change the brake location. I can't grab the front brake and control the throttle at the same time. I definitely still want the clutch lever so I think I would like a foot brake. I can get a line made up pretty easy I think. Does anyone else run a foot brake? Are there any issues with it?

Do a search. Guys have made kits to use both hand and foot brakes. Rekluse also has a kit.

I think the biggest issue with a foot brake is that it's often hard to get your foot on it in deep snow. I was thinking about doing the same as you, because sometimes you need to use the throttle and brake at or near the same time. And if I'm just riding without thinking about it, my natural tendency is to search for the back brake pedal with my right foot (I still do it 3 or 4 times a ride even after a full year of snowbiking). But after reading the comments from a lot of folks on this forum, I decided to stick with the longer cable and the hand brake. There are many times, especially when sidehilling to the right in deeper snow, when you can't get your foot on the brake pedal.

I love my foot brake. The only time I wish I had a hand brake is when I am trying to kickstart the bike on a slope and it keeps rolling backwards. imo, they need to have both on the kit.

I wouldn't do the foot brake, I made a new bracket and two calipers for mine and after 25 minutes of riding it was all full of snow and ice build up. It's up to you but I tried it and tore it all off for just a Hand brake.

I was worried about that. I will try plumbing both. I only want it for jumping once in a while.

Loon lake marina sells the kit made by nine miler on here. Comes with all the hoses you need and works great.
