Fogging Turbo and Engine

I don't spray anything into my baby. I just head out to the shop and fire it up and sit on it for 10 minutes or so once a month. lol

x2...As soon as season ends I put new oil in mine, fill the tank completely up and fire it up once a month!

Think you guys are missing the point of my thread, usually I do the same and fire mine up until it gets nice and hot. Motors coming out tomorrow and probably going to sit apart for a while. Wonder if it would be a good idea to fog it first so the tbo doesnt rust up over summer?

who's doing your motor duke?

I wouldnt worry about fogging it. Mine was out all summer before he got to it and all was fine. wrap it up with plastic to keep the dust ect.. off

:face-icon-small-dis Guess I'll just coat the cartridge and wastegate in oil and wrap up to keep them from rusting. Not worried about the motor.

I'm just pokin fun at our desire to ride.:face-icon-small-hap

If you were gonna pull it out you should think about high temp powdercoatin that baby. Just a thought. I was gonna do that this summer if I pulled it out.

I have the stuff you need. It comes in a spray can, and we actually spray it in to our intakes while the sled is running. You could just spray all of your parts with it and then bag them. Race car engine builders use it to coat bare heads, blocks etc...I'm sure I have an extra can laying around or I know Chuck sells it.

I would not worry too much about it unless you are storing it in a old farm building and a dirt floor. All the components on the compressor side are made out of aluminum so no corrosion issues there. You may actually cause an imbalance on the compressor from oil and dust build up.

My opinion, do with it what you want.
