fluid dampner on rev motor for polaris clutch?

HI I had a polaris clutch machined to fit an 07 r motor. Some guys have told me I need to find a fluid dampner to install to get rid of the vibration and to save the crank. Has anyone else had experience with this? Thanks

I used to run them on our hi-strung big bored 670's (740's & 825's). I'm not sure if they will bolt up to the new engine. I still have one sitting around. You had to change out the recoil cup to the newer shallow style for this to work. Other than that it all bolts together. I don't think they are available from Ski-Doo anymore. The Fluid Dampner brand did nothing. Stick with the Ski-Doo style if you can get one.

I did have the clutch lathed and then balanced to fit the ski doo taper. Honestly, I took it out this weekend, put on about 40 miles, and the crank broke right on the pto end and the clutch fell down. I bought the motor with 100 miles on. Several guys in my area have been running polaris clutches on ski doo 800s and have been fine. Others I was with when it broke suggested I try the fluid dampner or go back to the tra clutch which is supposed to have some sort of dampening effect whereas the polaris doesen't. It seemed to vibrate a little more than normal, but I figured it was ad boivins motor mount design in the hawks which I will be changing now.

As Dave said, we used to use the factory balancer from the 617's (it was a fluid balancer) on our 670's with Poo clutches.....it also fit on the Series3 700....but I'm not sure about any of the 800's.
