Float 30 Avey Backpack

Anybody seen these or used one? Are they comfortable to wear? Why are they half the price of ABS or Snowpulse? Cheaper craftsman ship or are the other two just been screwing us for the last ten years?

A great pack. I have a ABS Vario and also a BCA Float 30. I'd wear either one anyday. They are changing the pack a fair amount next year with regards to material, hydration, clasp location, waist pouch. But the price is going up like 150 or so. We all knew a first year product at this price would be to create some exictement and I think they have done this. Now the retail is going up a tad but still well within where the product should be priced.

In Canada Yamaha feels strongly about Avy awareness and equipment so they will supply with the purchase of each new Nytro MTX. Please check with selling dealer.........and then take an Accredited AST1 course.

I just bought one from Mike Duffy/BCA and really like it vs the ABS bag I had last year. Feels much more comfortable, weighs considerably less and the workmanship is top notch. It has and vertically adjustable breast strap also that is a very good idea. The only complaint I have is I wanted a bight orange bag to be seen and that is not available YET! Maybe next year, just a thought , hint, hint! The Float 30 is a quality bag you won't be disappointed. Oh, one more thing the price is very reasonable.

Randy nailed it! The Float 30 is a superb pack. Comfortable, lightweight, access friendly, etc., etc. The price of the Float 30 now is $500. The price will be $700 from talking with my friends @ bca. This is supposed to take affect this year! New improvements are as Randy stated. Different zippers, waterproof zippers, new backpack outer shell material. Black with orange lettering! We should thank a company like bca for keeping their prices reasonable for us sledders. They didn't want to raise the price, but after the engineers realized how pricey they were to manufacture bca still stuck by their $500 tag. Get your hands on one before they're gone! Better yet buy a new Yamaha and get one free

I have rode with mine for 3 days now. so far seems to be a great product. The only thing i would like to see is a ripcord more like the abs. yes its nice that its zipped in so you cant snag it but if you forget to pull it out before a climb your gonna be in trouble
