Float 18 vs 30 storage space.

Looking for some input on how much space there really is between the two, I have watched the videos but its hard to tell. Currently I have a Dakine helipro 22L that i pretty much fill, the nice thing about this bag is my probe. shovel and handle as well as probe all are stored on the outside. The small pocket on the front is usually filled with survival items and tools, which I do plan on storing in the seat on my sweet new 12 summit :face-icon-small-hap well the tools anyway not the survival stuff. the main compartment is usually filled with water, socks lunch as well as my Nikon SLR camera. Im kind of leaning towards the 30L bag as I feel it may handle the weight better, but looking for some advice.

Thanks guys

To be able to fit the items you mentioned, you will probably like the Float 30 better. It has separate storage for your shovel and probe and still has a main compartment for your other gear. The float 18 may be a little small for the items you are trying to carry and doesn't have a separate place for your shovel & probe.

You may want to look into the Snowpulse Highmark 22L. It may be exactly what you are looking for.

Float 30 has plenty of storage, Float 18 only has room for shovel and maybe lunch. Your shovel head goes in main compartment and two sleaves for your probe and handle.

My shoulders hurt at the end of a day riding with a 30, can barely tell I am wearing a 18. I bought a tunnel bag for storage.

30

With what you mentioned carrying you'll want the Float 30. I have both, am selling my 30 because I wanted a smaller pack although the 30 has compression straps that synch it up good when not hauling alot. I feel the 30 is more comfortable too. I'm going to add a tunnel bag to pick up the rest of my stuff.
