Flipping the flipper around?

Make sure you stay out of the trees! One branch and you will understand why.

Ya I thought of that and have sliced a grip or too in the past, maybe will just have to count how many time I would hit it if I flipped it. However I rarly hit the brake lever on anything but it takes a little more force to pull that..

backcountryislife has been using a finger throttle for forever. He swears by it. I've used the finger throttle in the past for a couple years and never had any encounters where it put me in a bad spot. Some tough hand guards would do the trick if needed. I went back to using the thumb throttle though.

One of my long-time wingmen does this too. He swears by it as well.

i ride the trees all the time and i'm always having to let go of one side of the bars when it whacks a tree. so i guess it depends on where and how tight of trees you ride. don't think my sled would last a ride like that;)

The way I ride, when I grab throttle, it sets me back...I can see my fingers holding the throttle down at inopportune times.

And tree branches. Bad.

X2 I do it after a convo with bcil tried it hated it the first day after that I can't go back to thumb!

I think I will give it a try on the trail ride in and see how it goes, tight trees are usually on the itinerary so maybe a spare in the truck would be a good idea.

I jumped on KJ's sled last year for a minute and tried it, I actually was pleasantly surprised. The hitting things worries me though, and I am not a fan of hand guards thus far in our industry.

In that vid you can clearly see that he is using 2 fingers alot and sometimes it looks like his whole hand is pumping the throttle. to me that take your grip away from the bars and could cuase less control in a given situation. But hey a friend of mine had a twist grip so what ever.

Turning the flipper to the Front of BARS

I tried turning the flipper around on my 99 RMK. My wife was riding it and she has a problems with her thumbs and wrist. It worked sitting down. We switched sleds and she got stuck. So I jumped on the 700RMK and had one knee on the seat.Grabbed the forward facing flipper and off I went. I couldn't let go,because of the force going forward. I finally managed to just throw myself off the sled. Thankfully I landed in some soft snow.
It's a bad idea to turn the flipper around in my opinion. Now I know why the manufactures have the flipper the way they do.
I've never heard of the finger throttle. Is it something like the gold finger left hand throttle. Any one have a link to a picture of it.
Thanks

I run my throttle lever tipped way down, i can operate it by thumb sitting down or standing, but also while standing I can twist my hand down (roll forward) a little bit and run it with 2 fingers which I do alot. Comes in handy for me in some of the awkward riding positions that makes the thumb side tough to operate, although my dad thinks I'm nuts for running it that way, I like it!
