They had a problem finding skilled workers in the U.S. who had command of the English language.

Way to live up to your username. Doesn't make 'the town' look very well educated. Funny how people vent about something without giving any background information so the readers can make informed comments.

Who needs that to flip burgers?:boink: :pound:

That depends on how much you want to charge for the burger. ;)

175$ BURGER
Momentarily the city’s most expensive burger, the Richard Nouveau consists of 10 ounces of Kobe-raised beef crowned with a thick “lobe” of seared foie gras, 25 grams of shaved black truffles, and aged gruyere cheese. It comes enthroned on a brioche bun anointed with a homemade truffled mayonnaise and garnished with more shaved truffles. Oh, and gold leaf flakes from Japan, which has the yummiest gold.

my two cents

When I ask myself what the goal of a company is I naturally assume that it is to make money. They people at polaris want to make money. In theory thats sounds great untill you try to open or operate a business in the united states in this day and age. There are so many little things you have to do not to mention taxes that you have to pay. I love America but not always the politic the thrive within it. In an ideal world I would have to say that what they did was wrong, but since we are far from ideal. I say shame on us for not voting like we care. Every year we give the feds a little more power and pay a few more taxes. In my opinion lots of large companies are going to be forced out if nothing changes. Look at it like would you move to feed your family or let them starve? Now I know that this may be little extreme and while I can see why they did what they did I will have to think long and hard before I purchase I polaris product in the future.

Agreed, at first reading it I though that was a ****ty move to go south but when you find out most of the competition is using cheaper labor and making more money. The real decision is take away 2,500 American jobs or take away Polaris in a few years and then take away ALL Polaris jobs. At least they didn't send them to China or India. And if you read the whole article they are pushing sales around the world so it makes since to have factories in other countries.

Also look at it this way. Since they are creating jobs in Mexico less people will have to come over here and take out jobs. They aren't coming here for the good snow I can tell you that!

Jeeze, I cannot stand the amount of dumba$$es around here that cannot bother to read more than a bunch of bolded words. Seriously, I didn't think hicks knew how to work a computer

This might sound odd, but I think THIS is a pretty big deal in the big picture. If the Mexican economy were more stable & gave it's residents the ability to support themselves in ways other than drugs & tourism, that stability would show itself in less immigrants, possibly a culture that has the balls to stand up to the drug lords, and can stand on it's own in general.

I know this is more big picture than one factory, but any goal is born of many small steps, not one instant change. Don't get me wrong, I don't see losing American jobs as a good thing, but given the choice of losing them to China, India, or ANYWHERE overseas... I'll take jobs going to Mexico. At least in Mexico there's some upside.

polaris rules

Every company now days has plants outside of the usa. They are still gonna build most things in the usa but this will help with many things!!!!!!!!!!!
