Our High Country Snowmobile club had our monthly club ride yesterday on the Flattops, east side. No deep snow but good for all types of riding. Had lunch on White Owl lake in the sun next to the Pines as a windbreak. Very little wind anyhow. Several of us went over to Hart Lake and near the bottom of Blair Mountain. Found good untracked snow everywhere. Did a bunch of boondocking and riding in the trees. As much as 5 feet in places with a good base. Lot's of people riding but the Flattops is so big and vast you never see anyone. I don't believe anyone hurt their sled, we did have to tow out a sled with a crank problem. All in All a great ride, son and I said we're ready to go again today, sadly work gets in the way. Yes, here in Summit County it's not real good. Best riding in Summit County is Spring Creek, if and when we get our groomer, it will be at work on Spring Creek and the surrounding area. Areas with the most snow right now are Grand Mesa, Wolf Creek, only near the top. Flattops, RE and Bufflo Pass, Sierra Madres west of Encampent, WY and Crested Butte area.
