Just wanted to let guys know that the flat red hood on 09 assault seems to have some sort of an overlay to make it flat. I was taking decals of and it pulled some of the flat finish off the bottom edge. It looks just like the red on the older sleds. I thought peaple may wont to know they need be careful with it I dont know how Im going to fix it.

If any one cares

That's not cool. can't say I'm surprised though, A friend of mine has an 08 D8 and he was peeling stickers as well when his clear coat came off. All the clear clear from where is middle hood sticker was came off with the sticker. He wasn't very impressed I'll tell ya that much. So with your hood is it like a plastic coating or some sprayed on stuff?

My buddys white dragon got cover beat and messed it up a little.
I thought mine was sprayed but it does not look like it, What about painting over it anyone know about that?

its like a wrap like helmets, my 08 rmk is the same i got a chip above my headlight and its like a wrap.. i think all the sleds are like that now becuase it dosent crack like paint would if it was flexed to much, its probably way cheaper too.

i seen a shift that was completely peeling the black

ya the matte color is just like a coating over the gloass color. i have a matte polaris helmet i use for quadding and a bunch of the matte is peeling off and it is gloss underneath

The best way to peel decals is to use an eraser type attachment that goes on a drill. I bought mine at Canadian tire. Ive painted lots of sleds and just make sure that if bare plastic is exposed you have to use plastic prep then paint because the plastic has like an oil in it and your paint will not stick worth a s h i t. Take it to a body shop or someone who knows about painting I do lots of airbrushing and have painted lots of sleds for people...you have to know what your doin ...check my profile pics of some sleds Ive painted.

Went to take the graphics off my 06 900 dragon hood with a hot water pressure washer, which I had done successfully many times before, leaves no residue and can be done in about 10 minutes. I was under the impression that it was a paint layer underneath, well needless to say the hot/ pressured water got under that last layer... Long story short now I have an excuse to paint the hood FLAT black like I always wanted anyhow! lol

5 minutes and done, super easy! No issues with the flat layer! So that was nice. These came off much easier than other sleds i have done, maybe cuz of the flat layer. Just a little heat to start and then just use a little heat on the whole decal and pull up on the sticker easy and it should be a snap!
