don't need quick release, (my flap is cut way down all it does is keep snow off me, kinda) but like your idea of getting rid of forks and goin with your own thing.
think outside the box and we will all have the hawk of our dreams. heard there is
a custom 700 dragonhawk in someones stable!

J&L,
Do you think that will be strong enough with just the single pin holding it? In deep snow I've already bent my brackets out from the resistance against the flap....I'm looking at drilling another hole in the upper side of the bracket and bolting through the skid to keep it from tweaking out.

The bracket mounts to the rail with 2 bolts the axle bolt and 1 other. the bracket on the flap itself is still held in place with stock rivets. the pin that holds the 2 pieces together only needs to keep it from sliding apart. If you hit something it will bend the bracket just like stock. purpose of this it to be able to quickly remove when get to the pow. thanks all
